Finding our meeting point is easy. Nevertheless, should you have difficulty finding us, then call us on +33 – 9 86 65 75 17.

Meeting Point (WARNING many tours leave from here!)

We run several tours from the same meeting point starting at the same time. Please let the guide know your surname so (s)he can check that you’re on the right tour!

  • Please turn up on time, as the tour may start without you!
  • The “Rusty Poles” monument is near our meeting point, see picture to the right.
  • If you’re late and want to meet up at the bike shop, see directions just below. We’ll be at the shop 15 minutes to 30 minutes after the tour starting time.

Bike Shop

If you’re late for the meeting point, you can join us directly at the shop. We’ll be there 15 minutes to 30 minutes after the tour starting time.

With the Opera Plage sign of the meeting point behind you, head right for about 50 m and cross the four lanes of traffic at the pedestrian crossing.

  • Head straight on through a tunnel under a building.
  • Keep on going straight on until you reach a large square with a big set of stairs coming down from a building on the right and a pink clock tower at the far left corner.
  • Cross the square diagonally and head for its far right corner.
  • Turn right onto Rue de la Préfecture and follow it for 80 m.
  • Turn left onto Rue de Colonna d’Istria and follow it for 75 m.
  • Our shop is on the corner with Rue du Pontin.

Cruise passengers – Coming by bus from Villefranche

Where is Villefranche?

Most cruise passengers come to shore at the port of Villefranche, which is 6 km (4 miles) east from the city of Nice and the tour start point. Allow 1 hr 15 min for the journey.

Travel by bus

The best, cheapest and fastest way to get to Nice from Villefranche is by bus. The bus costs 1,50 € per person per ride and takes approx. 15 mins. Take the bus number 81 or 100. Here you’ll find timetables (in French): 81100

Finding the bus stop

Allow 30 minutes to walk to the bus stop from the docking port. The best stop is “Octroi”. Cross the road and get the bus going in the direction of Nice (to your right when you are facing the sea). This is a google map link to the bus stop in Villefranche-sur-mer:

  • Walk around the port, keeping the water on your left, and out to the seafront.
  • Walk along the seafront until you reach the Opera Plage (Opera Beach) seafront restaurant entrance.

Getting back to Villefranche

To get back to Villefranche, get on the same bus (either the no. 81 or 100) at the same bus stop you got off.

Coming by Car

Please allow ample time for driving into Nice and finding the car park – traffic can be quite dense!

Coming from the East (Monaco/Italy)

Exit the motorway at exit 51 – Airport Nice Côte d’Azur. Follow signs for Nice-Centre and then Promenade des Anglais. Complete driving directions here.

Coming from the West (Antibes/Cannes/Marseille)

Exit the motorway at exit 50 – Nice-Promenade-des-Anglais. Follow signs for Promenade des Anglais. Driving directions here.

Driving into Nice and parking

  • Once on the Promenade des Anglais (a large palm-lined boulevard with the airport, then the sea, on the right), follow it for 6 km.
  • After leaving Hotel Méridien and McDonald’s on your left, turn left following signs for Vieux Nice (Old Nice) and Parking.
  • There are three multi-story car parks available in the old town: Corvésy, Palais de Justice and Cours Saleya.
  • Follow signs for the Cours Saleya car park, as it’s the most convenient.

  • When you come out of the car park, you will be in the middle of the Cours Saleya market.
  • You’ll need to walk west towards the entrance ramp that you’ve just driven down.
  • At the entrance ramp, turn left into a tunnel through a building leading towards the sea.
  • Once you’re on the seaside walkway, turn right and look for the “Opera Plage” beach restaurant entrance.

From Cannes, Antibes or Monaco by public transport

Geography

Cannes is 30 km (18 miles) to the south-west of Nice, Antibes is 17 km (11 miles) in the same direction and Monaco is 13 km (8 miles) east of Nice.

From either of these, the fastest way to get to Nice is by train (Cannes 40 min, Antibes 30min, Monaco 25min), although this leaves you with a 20-25min walk (1.8 km, 1.1 miles) from the train station in Nice to our meeting point, (although you can also grab the tram to shorten the walk somewhat). Get off at the Nice-Ville station.

  • With the train station behind you, turn left and walk out to the main thoroughfare, the Avenue Jean Médecin.
  • Turn right and follow it all the way down to a very large square with a large Apollo statue at its far/south end.
  • Alternatively, grab the tram (1,50 € per trip per person) from the “Gare Thiers” stop for two stops and get off at the “Masséna” stop.
  • Walk towards the giant statue of Apollo in the middle of a fountain.
  • Walk past the statue and take the street leading down to the sea behind it, the Rue de l’Opéra.
  • When on the seaside walkway, turn left and look for the “Opera Plage” beach restaurant entrance (see picture above).
